Skoda Octavia 3 1.4 TSI 140 HP - Whining sound at start cold engine. Hi , I bought a Skoda Octavia 1.4 TSI 140 3 HP and every morning when I start the engine or when the engine is cold , I hear a strange sound, a whining noise. I have posted on several forums to find out what would be the cause, maybe someone has an idea.

My dealership have stayed very quiet about any reasons for these issues, interesting to know that Skoda are aware of them! Turning out to be a mistake I fear. The lower company car tax was the clincher but should have stayed with Volkswagon. 1. zdarovje.
The 1.4/1.5/2.0 tsi are all not driven by any kind of cambelt/chain so dont need changing at the same rates. Also to anyone comparing the price of a 1.4/1.5 tsi cambelt change, just remember that if you have a hybrid then the price will be more as i believe to get to the end and lock the engine up a lot more bits need removing.
